If you’re looking for a strong, tough, odor-resistant solution, look no further than Smelly Proof storage bags. But don’t take our word for it. To make sure our storage bags exceed our customers’ expectations, we hired Intertek Group, a multinational inspection, product testing and certification company with a global network of state-of-the-art facilities and industry-leading technical expertise. Intertek has 44,000 employees in 1,000 locations in over 100 countries, ensuring complete quality assurance. We know how important it is to keep smelly food and other items contained, in a durable bag that doesn’t stink up every room in your house.
Completely Odor Resistant
Intertek Group tested the odor-resistant technology behind Smelly Proof bags. They compared how well our bags contained odors from some truly smelly items like sliced onion, canned tuna, cut garlic, raw salmon and limburger cheese. They started by cutting the item in two, putting it in a Smelly Proof plastic bag, and leaving it out at room temperature for 24 hours. After 24 hours, they smelled the bag standing one foot away. According to the results, no odors were detected for any of the objects.
Heavy Duty Smelly Proof bags even pass the bear test. Check out this video that shows several bears not being able to smell what’s inside our Heavy Duty Smelly Proof storage bags.
Intertek Group also tested Smelly Proof bags to see how well they keep in water. The company filled a series of Smelly Proof bags with water and put them on a bed of tissue paper. After one hour, they observed no changes. The bags did not leak, and the tissue paper didn’t dampen.
Can Withstand Extreme Temperatures
To see how well Smelly Proof bags stand up in extreme temperatures, Intertek Group put some Smelly Proof bags in the freezer, set at 0° F, for 16 hours. Then, they put the bags in a humidity chamber, set at 120° F, for 8 hours. Finally, they took the bags out of the humidity chamber and analyzed the results. They found no significant changes to the bags, including no discoloration, rust, softening, swelling, deformation or cracks and leaks.
Intertek Group also made sure our bags were completely FDA approved. In order to be considered food-safe, the density for polyethylene in the bags should be between 0.85 and 1.00. After the test, Smelly Proof bags passed the regulations with flying colors, as laid out by U.S. 21 CFR FDA Regulation part 177.1520 clauses (c) (2.1) for Polyethylene.
When it comes to storing food and beverages, according to us and Intertek Group, nothing beats the odor-resistant durable technology of Smelly Proof bags.
